Put a book in front of the projector. :P

Also, try running the projector in "Extended display" and then set PowerPoint to only show on the second screen. It's called "Presentation Mode". Gives you full control of the presentation, has a notes page and even shows a timer, yet your audience only sees the active slide itself.
