Hdd error

Hi guys,

My pc has been rebooting uncontrollably and it fixed for a few days then came back,

I ran a chkdsk and it came up with this

"A disk read error occuredc0000185

The disk does not have enough space to replace bad clusters

Detected in file 77843 of name /hiberfil.sys."

Any ideas?

And the file hiberfil.sys is the file that is used when  you set your pc in hibernate mode!

It has been recently formatted and its a seagate barracuda 2TB

Well the file is used for hibernate mode, theres a way you can delete it.

 

hibernate completely writes the memory out to the hard drive, and then powers the PC down entirely!

You’ll need to open an administrator mode command prompt by right-clicking on the command prompt in the start menu, and then choosing Run as Administrator. Once you’re there, type in the following command: 

powercfg -h off


NOTE: this is for windows vista/7/8.1

use CrystalDiskInfo and report back the health status

 

it seem the HDD is dying soon

It's a seagate so yeah... Just buy a WD next time.
