This is basically what I WOULD get with that budget

You said you weren't that tech minded, so I'll explain why I picked each.

Be sure to do your own research and find parts that you YOURSELF like.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/panfriedpuppies/saved/1UA9

Processor will do anything you need it to, you won't benefit much from upgrading to a 4770k gaming-wise. Obviously, you'll want to be able to overclock in the future.

CPU cooler is a CPU cooler, stock sucks, you can achieve a decent OC in the future if need be on air.

Motherboard has all the functions you'd want, good reviews on it, not a bad overclocker.

RAM is RAM, you really won't need more than 8GB for gaming, but you could add in another kit if need be in the future. Also no point in buying above 1600Mhz for what you're doing.

SSD for fast boot times, maybe put a few games on there for load time performance. 1TB HDD for everything you don't need to be that fast.

GTX 780 because it's basically the best GPU to fit in your budget, I love EVGA, they've been great for me.

Case because it's low profile, not so noisy. Decent cable management options.

Power supply because it'll provide all the wattage you need to run your parts, looks pretty solid.

CD drive because you'll need it for windows 7 install, you probably won't use it a lot so you may not want one, instead opting to use a CD drive from some other PC.

Lastly, windows 7. Windows 8 is an option, assuming you don't mind the UI, seeing as people generally see better game performance (assuming you can get games running)

You could get all these parts and have a great rig for gaming, but I would use this as a GUIDELINE to get what you REALLY want.

Be sure to ask around the forum if you have more questions.

Thanks for the post pan ,looks a good build nice case too, would like a few more lists to be posted before i start putting the build list up,Overclocking ? the cpu what does that do s3ns3 sorry bit of a neebie here

Overclocking pushes the CPU past the rated stock speed for a performance benefit. It's best to look up guides and do research before attempting an overclock and even then don't push too quickly. Little increments of voltage.

As a general rule, get an overclockable processor if:

You don't know if you'll overclock in the future

You don't want to upgrade as quickly

You don't want to limit your performance

There are risks to overclocking, be wary of them.

Remember, research.

Just a quick question for you why i5 and not i7 Processor  for gaming what's the different apart from the price

An i5 games just as well as an i7 since the only difference is that an i7 has hyper threading unlocked.

Also, do you have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, OS, etc.

Why a i7 if you're only gaming ? Get i5, you won't get any benefit with the hyperthreading at games.

if you don`t know what overclocking means than i don`t see you doing it . if you just want stock speeds, wich are fine btw,get the 4770 NON K and a H87 board.

Yep, that's $100 cheaper.

Thanks for the build list ,i7 for streaming and some video editing would the i5 make any different

The i7 would be better for editing/rendering.

For streaming, the i7 might be a bit better. The i5 should do just fine.
