i know ofc that the 4690 is better than the 4590 , but what i am asking is: does it provide that 30$ better performance? does it justify that price difference??(it may be less but in my country it is 30$)

My build is primarily for gaming with light video editing, light rendering and photoshop.
the build is as follows:
Asus z87-a
cpu: 4690/4590
gpu: g1 gaming gigabyte gtx 970
ram:hyperx beast 2400 mhz 2x4 gb
1 tb wd blue
seasonicc m12 ii evo 620 psu
Any recommendations?
ik i wouldnt need a z__ mobo but i am planning to sli in the future and h__ dont have that feature.

There isn't too much of a difference, but for the sake of 30 bucks, I'd get the 4690 for the higher clock speed which could be handy for rendering.

The .2ghz difference isn't really noticeable...A 4690k would be worth the extra money seeing as it can be pushed to 1ghz+ higher, but a normal 4690 isn't really worthwhile.

I would also go with a z97 board + 4690k or z87/97 (whichever is cheaper) with an i5-4570.

i'll tell u something. here in my country, a 4690k is 30$ more than the 4690 and 55$-60$  than a 4590. add the cpu cooler cuz if i am getting a 4690k i ll overclock and i will need a decent cpu cooler. the hyper 212 evo is 40$. that is about 70-95$ more. I will be better getting a 4790 non k version. it is better than any 4690k oc'ed and has hyperthreading. So overclocking isnt an option now,not really.

Just calculate how much does tgat $30 is in percamtage of the full price of 4690.

Then compare thay with cost of 4590, and based in benchmarks resulta compare if that difference percantage matches the performance difference.

It's a 200MHz difference, so in theory the 4690 could perform a little less than 6% faster than a 4590 in the best case. In the real world it'll be less than that though.

And if 6% = $30 then answer is : NOT WORTH !

6% = $30

60% would then be $300 which could maybe justify the price but when u talk about 6% then its un-noticable.
