Hi all,

So i'm planning to make a Social Networking app with the language of Objective-C using apple's Xcode.

Now the last time I did some coding was last year in July and I'm really rusty and i just want to know where should i start. I'm planning to take baby steps such as making a small calculator app or a currency exchanger so i can get the hang of it, but i just need to leads on how i can starts this social networking app.

Thanks,

Ismet

When I had to learn how to make iOS apps a few years ago, I quite enjoyed the books by Big Nerd Rach. However it now feels like they are a bit outdated by now. Shouldn't you be using Swift instead of Obj-C?

But swift is still "too" new, there aren't as many courses and tutorials etc. on it

Indeed, but Apple being Apple, I wouldn't be surprized if they dropped Obj-C in just a few years from now. Working with two completely different langages isn't exactly compatible with their uniformisation fetish.

That's no excuse at all. If we followed that methodology we would all still be writing our applications in Turbo Pascal/Delphi < 5 (some still do).

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

And it is so much nicer to write and read ... Also you can do all the tutorials on Objective-C in Swift as well ...
