RASPI remote desktop

I want to be able to see basically the screen of my raspi from my desktop on the same network. I've heard theres a program called synergy which lets me use the same keyboard and mouse which I will use with it. I've been using ssh to control it up to now.

you have to turn the GUI on to "see the screen".  you can still use SSH.  I use Putty.
