Here is the question:

 

crucial ballistix tactical cl 9-9-9- 27 or 24 (conflicting info) 1866mhz 4x4gb vs patriot viper cl 10-12-12-30 2400mhz 2x8gb

 

pc specs:

i5 4690k

gtx 970

msi z97 gaming 5 supports up to 3000+ mhz ram

700w 80+ bronze

RAM speed doesn't really matter with a discrete GPU.

Speed doesn't matter. I would go for the 4x4 kit though, because reputable brands are always the way to go.
