Any idea why my friend's notebook is having this unusually funny blue screen?!

that looks like a dead gpu....but its a laptop...integrated graphics sooooooo...its dead.

the sad  smiley is a win 8 bsod. a dead/glitching gpu can cause an error 124 or 126 because of the...odd appearance im just guessing its the gpu. could also be the ram.
