Will these PC components work together?

Go to solution Solved by matthewmarchant,

Thank you so much, but that build with windows would be about $800 as we still have to buy windows. Any ideas how to knock that back down to around $700 including Wndows?

Sorry what I just posted was stupid of me, this will be much better - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8NnYt6

If that power supply needs that much fluff in it's title, you know it's trouble.

Everything else seems ok.

Never get a cheap power supply as this affects your whole build. And the ram could be a bit better, I don't know if having separate 4-8GB will work together. Someone will correct me :P

1. That PSU is terrible, get one from Silverstone, Seasonic, EVGA, Cooler Master, or Corsair.

2. That MOBO and CPU will not work together, the FX 8320 is a AM3+ CPU not an AM1 CPU.

3. I wouldn't trust that wireless adapter, get this one or a similar one from TP-Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007GMPZ0A/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=

--edit--

Just saw he wants it to have "Some degree of future proof"

kmn... nobody knows the future, therefore nothing can be future proof.

It will, you can mix and match capacities to your hearts content.

The psu is sketchy af.  + You don't need that many watts 400-500 will do you just fine.  Heres a good psu for the money buy a TRUSTED brand.  http://www.amazon.com/500-watt-Bronze-Certified-Atx12V-100-B1-0500-Kr/dp/B00DGHKK7M

And also why the ram might have some problems I would say just go for 16gb of a dual channel kit instead of mixing and matching different capacitys

If you want I could come back in about 15 min and give you a link to a computer that will preform better for the $.

Hope this helped :)

AM1 socket motherboard with an 8320? LOL

The CPU is a bit out dated, I would recommend an Intel i3 instead.

NEVER cheap out on a power supply. They have the potential to destroy your entire setup.

You can pick up 1tb (1000gb) HDDs for around $60

8gb of RAM is both the minimum and maximum for a (semi) budget gaming PC

On that note, both (newer) Antec and XFX are rebranded SeaSonic units.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I'd prefer going with a non-rebranded power supply, who knows what other changes could have been made to it.

Thank you so much, but that build with windows would be about $800 as we still have to buy windows. Any ideas how to knock that back down to around $700 including Wndows?

lol, didn't catch that, just quickly skimmed through the list.

Another prime example of why PCPartPicker should be used, pretty much idiot proof in the CPU to MoBo compatibility department.

Not much to my understanding. SeaSonic is the OEM that provides internals, Antec and XFX just design them.

Here's a nice list.
