decided to build a budget gaming rig and was looking for some advice so far I have not including parts that will be salvaged from old tower till I can upgrade

-Asus H81M-E Motherboard
-EVGA 500W PC Power Supply
-Zalman Z9 Plus Midi Tower Case - Black
-Asus GTX 750Ti
-Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz

I'm not sure what CPU I should get here's a list of ones I'm considering but if there's one at around the same price mark that you feel is better suited please let me know any help would be much appreciated as I've never built a rig before and I'm working off a very small knowlege bank here.

-Intel Pentium G3258 CPU (Dual Core 3.20GHz)
-Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad 2.4GHz Processor (actually cheaper than G3258 second hand with included cooler)

-AMD APU Athlon 5350 Quad Core Processor (Socket AM1, 2.05GHz)

You can't use the Q6600 or the Athlon 5350 with that board. They use different sockets.

Thanks this was really helpful I didn't know that the Q6600 and the 5350 weren't compatible massive under sight. I would really like to get an i3 or 5 but unfortunately it's not in my budget range at the moment will be upgrading at a later date. Are there any reasonably priced 4 core cpu's that would be compatible with my mobo as I would quite like to be able to play farcry and other games that take advantage of multi core?

It's powerful considering its price, I have a low budget, I needed 3d capability for my projector, it's power efficient... and it's shiny!

Because it's an excellent budget oriented card that can easily do 60fps at 1080p on medium/medium-high settings. Even when pit against Far Cry 4 I can do medium settings at 40-50 fps. So... The real question is, for the low low cost of $120 (with rebate), why WOULDN'T you wanna buy a 750 Ti?

The next comparable card is the R7 260(X)/265, and it's drivers are not really good. Next step up from that is the R9 270(X) or the GTX 960, both of which are $180-$230 cards.

Cinders: - i7 4790K (4.5GHz) - Gigabyte Z97X-SOC - 16GB Klevv DDR3 1600MHz - EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX2.0+ (1548MHz Boost) - EVGA Supernova 850GS - NZXT H440 Orange/Black (Modified) -
Unnamed System: i5 4690K (4.2GHz) - MSI Z97I-AC - 8GB G.Skill DDR3 2400MHz - EVGA GTX 950 SSC - Raidmax Thunder V2 535W - Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX

No, the only quad cores available are Core i5's, Core i7's, and Xeon E3's. All of which are relatively expensive.

$180-230 for an R9 270? You can get an R9 280 for that, or even a 280X with a little luck. The R7 265 is better than the GTX 750 Ti but only costs like $5-10 more. The R7 260X is a little slower but $20 cheaper.
