  1. Get an H81 mobo with the i3-4130. Should be cheaper and better (dem 4 threads....)
Get a 128gb SSD instead. Use the money saved to invest on...... a better GPU.

You need to login to HWZ to download from that page...

Here's PC Theme's pricelist direct off their Facebook.

I'd opt for a cheaper SSD (or even a 7200rpm HDD) to free up $ for an i3

The Pentium really sucks. Doesn't beat an i3 even when overclocked. H97 won't let you overclock the Pentium anyway...

The 520W PSU will do fine even with the GPU overclocked.

Hmmm can the pentium keep up with 270x?

Sadly h81 mobos isnt really availible in my country anymore :(

He probably needs a 250gb one

270x is good enough for him!

Nope. I live with 128gbs, and I'm yet to feel the need for more. In fact, I even have some stupid huge files that were supposed to go into the HD, but I'm lazy to transfer over.

Its fine for light games like CSGO and mobas. But you will probably encounter a bottleneck when playing more demanding titles.

Think ahead or your friend. He isn't going to be playing CSGO forever.

Also an SSD does not affect performance in games. It significantly cuts load times, but is negligible in CSGO.

He can do an upgrade when he needs it (that's why a h97 mobo and a pentium)

He currently has quite a limited budget of 1k SGD

He wants fast load times too

Well I've said all I could.

If you choose a lower capacity SSD, you can add a 2TB HDD (seriously you shouldn't have just 128GB in a PC)

PCT has the Plextor M6S 128GB at $99, and Toshiba 2TB at $100

Toshiba's Deskstar drives are severely underrated. iirc they have the lowest failure rate for consumer 7200rpm drives. Ironically Toshiba got bought out by WD a while ago.

Hmmm what about this then?

H97 PC mate MSI + g3258 (BB)= 212$
mx100 250gb (fuwell) = 159$
8gb ram (BB) = 92$
Seasonic s12ll 520w (fuwell) = 89$
CM n300 case (BB) = $70
Fan filter silverstone (xtreme solution) = 15$
R9 270X Vapor-X (both BB and fuwel)= 300$

Total = 937$
