Using Android device as a modern/router

Go to solution Solved by Prikk,

Yes that will be used in case of emergency only. Any idea how to set this up?

You will need a device that is compatible with Ethernet over USB. Check if your android device has an Ethernet option in the Wireless/Connection settings, or just try to look it up online. If it does, just find a Ethernet -> USB cable and plug it in.

I haven't tried that. But I'm guessing no. You can use your phone as a mobile hotspot but you'd be using you phone's data.

better off buying a cheap router.

Replace? No.

Substitute in emergency? Yea.

The chip on phones are no where near as powerful as those in routers. You will Lag, and you will lag a lot. Connect like 5-6 devices on it and it will be unusable.

It's not that bad. I can easily play online games while on hotspot with 3g, ping being 50

I don't always have time to study, but when I do, I don't.
