I'm in the market for a new mouse. I have a Razer Deathadder right now, which I heard was great for large-ish hands, but in my experience it hasn't been comfortable for my palm grip.

So, what mice do you use for palm gripping/what would you reccomend?

Thank you!

My Sensei is good for any grip that I want to use. I have really small hands though, so it might be different for you.

My R.A.T. 7 Is amazing. I have XL hands and I use the largest settings for the mouse. Only mouse I've found to be comfortable enough for my gaming needs. HOWEVER, it gets a lot of bad rep for it's SUPER sensitive sensor. I eliminated this problem by using a Razer Vespula mouse pad.

My system: i7 2600k @3.4ghz - Corsair h110 - ASRock z77 extreme4 - 2x EVGA GTX 770ti SLI - 16gb (4x4gb) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz  - 120gb Crucial m4 SSD - 1tb Caviar Black WD HDD - Silverstone ATX12V 1000W 80+ Gold PFC Power Supply - NZXT Phantom 820.

Peripherals: Corsair M95 - Corsair K70 - Razer Vespula - TrackIR 5 - 2x Asus VK278Q 27" 1080p

The only mice on par with the Deathadder are the...

Logitech G400/G400s

Zowie EC1 Evo, EC2 Evo, FK and AM

CM Storm Recon

Roccat Savu (possibly also the Kone Pure Optical, when it's released)

People seem to like the Logitech/Zowies more than the CM Storms/Roccats.

Any other palm mouse would be a downgrade.

They're laser mice, so they're not as precise. The G700 will also have a higher latency being wireless, but it might be too slight to be relevant.

get the G500s and G700s 0 problems with their new upgraded sensors and laser in most cases are more precise. The G700 and G700s have 0 latency this is actually why I switched back to them.

They're just using A9800s. Nothing special.

Since you're contradicting the results of an immense amount of testing from countless people, would you care to provide a source for that?

its and upgrade from their previous sensor and its one of the better/best laser sensors

dont need a source it all depends on what and how your tracking. Also how you use your mouse. Most tests that ive read or hear about most of time deal with error that is imperceivable without testing, which when im gaming I could care less about. Also much of this deals with rather low dpi and very quick or slow movement, which from what I understand is not majority now days.

This should apply somewhat it is at least interesting (beware the camera and its flash is SUPER annoying!) http://goo.gl/jIc7K

I love the G9X XD but I'm not sure you can buy it anymore!

nope they discontinued it, thats why everyone though they were going to come out with a G900 or with a G900s when they launched their G series but they didnt. I wouldnt really consider the G9/G9X a palm grip mouse though unless you have the ID Grip which was only sold for a limited time.

I see, I'm a fingertip mouse user myself, but I thought that it was possible to palm it :) I don't have the grip you're talking about though.

PROFILEYEAH

What do people even put in these things?

you "can" palm it just like i can fingertip or claw grip a G600 is just not natural. but that was the nice thing about the G9/G9X, the different grips.

The A9800 is just a DPI-boosted A9500 as far as I'm aware. It certainly retains the acceleration flaws (or "speed errors" from your video).

Yes, you need a source, because your claims are out of step with what is generally regarded to be true. The only time laser has any performance advantage over optical is if you aren't using a mouse pad (which you should be). Otherwise? Optical is either equal or superior. I think many would argue from their own experiences that the flaws in laser sensors are very much perceivable, but even for those who can't perceive them, it doesn't mean it isn't affecting them. In the same way we aren't consciously aware of our brain building the muscle memory that improves our aim, it's possible we aren't consciously aware of that which impedes our aim. I think it's preferable to know that any time you suffer as a result of a miss or miss-click that it was down to your error and not your mouse's.

While this does tend to relate to the more extreme ends of mouse movements, acceleration/speed errors actually kick in at rather pedestrian speeds with the A9800 and A9500 sensors, because although they have very high malfunction speeds, their perfect control speeds are considerably lower, which means laser sensor flaws come into play far more often.

That video does apply somewhat, but only serves to dismantle the selling point of current laser sensors (uselessly high DPI).

If software did true 1 to x calculations instead or using a curve or acceleration based algorithm I and probably many people would lower the mouse to it optimal level and let software on the PC handle it but since it doesnt I use DPI for adjusting sensitivity, which in most cases for me is 1600 on most mice for gaming I do also have 400 setup for sniping or other stuff that requires more accuracy. Some games do require me to adjust, sometimes drastically one off hand being Planetside 2. Also for desktop usage I add another step of 3200.

you can check the 9800 i think it may still have a single flaw left but its still regarded as the best laser currently to my knowledge.

I agree you can be affected by a bunch of stuff without knowing it but it up to you to decide if its anything thats really worth pursuing or something that we dont even notice because we as humans can adapt easily especially to very small things, you may actually be surprised at some of the stuff out brains gloss over for us.

I have seen MANY of complains and tests about current sensors and what not. I do understand that some people care a lot about this but how many people that actually use their mouse for make a living via gaming care on the subject? If they really cared a fair bit and made a deal about it im pretty sure the companies that sponsor them would start modifying at least one mouse around the teams they sponsor, especially since Esports is growing as fast as it is. I really think people make this a much bigger deal than it really is. Id rather have a mouse that suits me and i like and have a sensor thats off by a couple a percent (if that) every now and then than have to buy a certain mouse that I dont like that much just because i must have a certain sensor.

If you really want the best accuracy possible switch over to a optomechanical trackball. You may only have near 400dpi at best but damn is it accurate and reliable.

Yea the 9800 is fine.

Good palm mice: g500s, g600s (if you want a ton of buttons), g700s (if you want wireless), Func Ms-3, Corsair M90/95, Corsair M60/65.

EDIT: added s to logitech mice

you should change the G500 and G700 recommendations to their "s" variants their actually quite improved for the little that looks changed. I did notice that the software changes on the G700s trickled down to the G700 though which is kinda nice.
