ok i know not many people must use this media any more, its more for my dad so he can play audio cd on a the h fi or in the car but my burner not reading blank Cd-R's,

its a LG super Multi Reader, Reads blu rays and can burn both DVD and CD

it fine at reading all formates when burnt or real copy CD, CD-r, CD-rw, DVD, DVD-r, DVD-rw, Blu Rays.

the burner is fine on DVD-r, DVD-rw

now here is where it gets really weird, it fine with CD-rw as long as I had data on them before hand so I can format or add data to them disk just fine, same with cd-r but when there no data on that disk the player

just will not read them, even if its the same brand of disk, I thought I might of got unluckly and got a bad batch of disks so got another brand and still no luck,it litally just on blank cd-r that it dosent seem to know what the format is. has any one got and idea of what could be causing it?

ah I remember the days burning DVD-Rs

first of all, there are two formats (+) and (-).  Some older burners only did one or the other until the super multi burner was made with both lasers.

of course if you burner reads some discs and not others, the others are usually bad discs.  I recommend Verbatim and Memorex for DVDs and CDs, I've always had the best luck with those brands.

If they still make those, that is.

"Pardon my French but this is just about the most ignorant blanket statement I've ever read. And though this is the internet, I'm not even exaggerating."
