If you're only gaming buy the i5, games aren't optimized to take advantage of hyperthreading, so an i7 will have no advantage over an i5 when it comes to gaming performance.

Ive even seen benchmarks in which i5 is better in gaming, but most of the time difference between the two is none. Also hyperthreading has some compabitility problems. Ive seen some people report about it. You just get the I5 and a good cooler since haswell's arent cooler than ivy's. They used to solder IDE and die but they just use cement like thermal paste to do it now on ivy's and haswell's. You should remove IDE from die by easily cutting it with a thin and sharp blade than using a professional thermal paste for IDE and die. That improoves temps by 10-30 celsius. That is a LOT!

Thank you everyone, and yeah,I've seen some forums and videos about that thermal compound problem,It is a pretty huge difference,I also thougt about doing it,but because of the power delivery included to the haswell chip now,it is even more risky than it was on Ivy (also mega-risky),so I think is will settle for the classic Noctua Dh-d14.Thanks for the hint :)

This is true, but only attempt this if you seriously know what you're doing and you're not too afraid of damaging your CPU.

Hello! The 4670K should be perfect for your use! The only difference between the 4770K and 4670K is hyper threading, which can actually harm performance in some games.

But, if you plan to start doing video editing in the future, then the hyper threading in the 4770K can be useful, but for gaming there is no point of spending an extra $100 for it.

I highly discourage everyone from delidding, it is not worth the risk and you will lose your warranty on the CPU. Better to just get a nice cooler to bring the temperatures down. I have seen many people lose their $200+ dollar CPUs by delidding, not worth it.

Good luck! And let me know if you have any more questions!

Go for the i5, you will save a massive amount of money and will only have to sacrifice a couple of frames per second.
