Fan noise

Hey guys I ordered a new fan because I thought my old one was going bad because it was loud. When I put the new one in, it made the same noise. Thing is, when I put my had over it, the noise goes away. Is it because it's sucking the air thought the little holes? Any ideas? Here is a video of the noise.

Noise is not audible in the video. It could be rattling.

It's caused by the frequencies and blah blah blah, Silverstone has a good video about it. And I see you have a fan in the optical bay, it is caused by the sounds up against a restrictive spot.

 

You can lower the fan speed or increase the space between the fan and the bay mesh area. Or just get the Silverstone AP123.

The noise is very audible when you turn the volume up. It goes away after I put my hand over it. And yes, the blackhawk allows you to install a fan if not using the bottom 3 optical drive bays. I will remove the mesh and just have one big hole and see if that helps. Thanks for that video. :)

Thing is...my rig has the same setup for holes. Albeit, they are smaller, but they're the same shape. No noise, unless rattling.

Well I cut the grill behind the front bezel out, and now its quiet. Thanks guys  :)
