Problems with Symbolic Links

Go to solution Solved by antoainb,

Well derp... Apparently they're called junctions and that option did show up with the plugin, still don't get why the CMD command wasn't working...

Hi!

I am trying to create a symbolic link between my "Pictures" folder on my C: drive and the folder where I actually store them that's on my D: drive. I have tried both using the "mklink" command and this: http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html. Both methods work when I try to create a link between folders on the same drive, if I try to link "C:\Folder1" to "C:\Folder2" or "D:\Folder1" and "D:\Folder2" that will work just fine, but if I try to link "C:\Folder1" to "D:\Folder2" the plugin won't show the option to create a "Hardlink" and the CMD method will just fail and spit out the error: "Cannot create a file when that file already exists". I have no idea why it doesn't work, seriously, none. It have been able to create symbolic links and still can with SymMover (a program that moves program files to another drive and leaves a symbolic link where the original folder was so you don't break something by moving the files) which just makes this all more confusing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)

P.S.: Yes, I have tried rebooting.

i'm a potato
