Thumping WD HDD?

Hi guys,

Ive recently bought a WD 2TB HDD (WD2003FYPS-27W9B0 ATA) and since installing ive noticed small thumping noises, to the point now where its all i can hear!

Does anyone know what could be the problem or is this just a normal issue with it?

I really noticed it whilst playing Arma 3, mostly as its the only game i own!

I am new to this and this is my first build so any help would be appreciated!

Did you turn off all the Arma 3 volumes to see if it wasn't arma? Arma recently added some heartbeat crap and it's so stupid.

Ive noticed it when just on the desktop, usually when am clicking or action something? loving the devil by theway! lol

Can you run a test with WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics tool and see if any errors or bad sectors will be detected by the program? You can download it from here:

Just backup your data first if you decide to go with an extended test because if the tool finds any problems it will try to fix them automatically.
