6970 bottleneck?

Pip_Buoy

Hey, I am planning a new gaming build based around a 3570k. I was wondering if an HD 6970 would be a bottleneck, or if performance would be good enough regardless of a bottleneck.

I will be running this system on a 1080p monitor.

no you would not have any problems with bottleneck in your system

a 6970 is still a decent card.

What do you mean by bottleneck? You obviously could get more gaming performance by getting a 680, 690.

And yes, performance should be enough for that card @ 1080p

Thanks for the quick response, I really needed a second (and third) opinion on this as I will hopefully run this for the next 3 years, I wanted to be sure I wasn't losing performance from day 1.

By bottleneck I meant a large loss in performance from my CPU as my GPU can't run fast enough.

And I know that your CPU is almost always more powerful than your GPU.

Bottleneck is such a nasty word, there is always a bottleneck somewhere.

Regardless of that, that will be a well rounded setup, you shouldn't worry.

Thanks again everyone.

That's a much better way of describing it, I wanted if it was a well rounded configuration.
