Ok so question, have an R9 290X, sorry dont know all the bug technical stuff as this was built for me.  Anyhow, the screen flickers REALLY bad when it is connected via HDMI to my home theater reciver, the flickering only stops once I turn the TV on as well.  If I dont connect at all to the reciever, there is no flickering.

Anyone experience this or know what I'm doing wrong and how to correct this?

Maybe HDMI port in reciver is damaged. Also could you take a picture of how the flicker looks.

Never considered the receiver port couldbe damaged, but I also just went to the computer to try and make a video of the flickering, or shaking, hard to really adequately describe what this is and with both the receiver and TV OFF, it is still doing it.  Tried to make a video and you absolutely cannot see it in the video, plus I'm afraid my hand is shaking too damn much as well =(

I'm going to go on a long shot and say yes.  Like i said though at the moment the TV and the reciver are both off, and there is still massive flickering.  Its like watching the url bar at the top of the screen have a seizure and just spastically "bounce" super fast.  I dunno if this even makes sense?

I am not sure how to check what the refresh rate of the TV is.

Maybe the cable is damged maybe AMD's drivers are screwing around. Im no expert in this, but for me the issue seem's cable and/or port on tv, I doubt that this is a case of gpu's fault. If I remeber corect there was a topic where a guy had flickering that was caused by cable.
