Laptop Search Help

Hello Linus Tech Tips community,

 

I don't know if im posting this in the right section, so any assistance or guidance would be wonderful.

 

I am looking for a laptop for my mother. She is a very basic user and the computer will likely be used for internet surfing, possibly streaming netflix/hulu, basic office things such as basic Excel and word documents, and the main thing being pictures from her DSLR camera.

This laptop is the one I came up with, on a quick search of amazon. It has an sd card plug in, its small and portable, and the cpu is decent. It also has usb 3.0 which would be good for transfering large ammounts of pictures faster to an external drive. The budget is less than ~$400, so this is right at the top of the budget.  I would prefer amazon or newegg if anyone finds links to help me in my search.

I found this one after searching around Mobile Devices. However the CPU is slower. Touch screen isn't a must have so I would rather the slightly better performance, and the bigger storage isnt a big deal.

She also likes the 14 inch screen better than the smaller 11 inch.
