Disk Drive will not read blank disk

Hello all, i am having an issue will my sata dvd rom not reading any blank disk. I have tried numerous brand names and still getting error listed below stating "Windows can read disk in drive  D:\" this is the error that i get if there is a disk or not in the drive. I have tried doing the "regedit" trick and uninstalling the drive and even pulling the drive out physically and still getting the same error. I have looked through numerous sites trying to figure this out and i am still stumped so pls help me my Tech Tips family.
