HELP WITH A SMITE LAN BOX

Go to solution Solved by Daniel91,

An R7 260X could handle those games easy at 1080p, don't know about 1440p though but it should run fine. A 970 would be overkill. If he is looking to build an on the go LAN box I would go with a Pentium G, but if he has the cash then go for the i5 and 970, you never know what he will use the LAN box for in a few years. :)

k thank you

My classmate wants to build a SMITE/LoL hand carry lan box

I got most of the parts except for the GPU and the processor

I'm wondering if R7 260X is enough or should I go for a GTX 970 itx ?

he expect to use 1080p to 1440p monitors

Case bitfenix prodigy

RAM Kingston fury 16GB 1866 (2x8GB)

Board Gigabyte ITX Z87 or 97 series board

2TB WD Blue

his old cooler master thunder 450W

a Rseries 200 card or a GTX 970?

a i5 4790K or a G3258?

I feek the 970 is a overkill

If you want a small portable computer I'd suggest an Nvidia card. The GTX 960 would run both LoL and Smite at max settings no problem. Probably even LoL at 4k DSR since I've seen 750 TIs do it flawlessly. The i5 would be nice but I could never suggest a dual-core CPU as playing LoL on my old intel dual core was awful, and multitasking is always nice. Maybe an i3 dual core with hyperthreading/ amd FX 6300. I've never gotten this FX 6300 over 40DC with a CM 212 evo and it's a great CPU that is cheap. 8gb of RAM at 1600 would be plenty. No gamer really uses 16gb, I have 16gb but it's not much a difference from 8gb. You can multitask insanely with 8gb or 16.
