Why are you using the 9800GT and not just integrated?

He games and if he does the game aren't even intensive.

I'm not familiar with the case, but the other parts look great. The GPU will be holding you back though, but that's to be expected I guess.

That thing was still strong enough to play both Metro games at a decent FPS on 1080P low and Crysis 2

The weird thing is you spent all this money on great components, but wont spend another $140 or so for an R9 270. Just a bit more would get you a great 1080p ultra computer on non-demanding games, and medium on even demanding games. If he doesn't play any new games, then you're fine as is, but then I don't understand the great CPU choice.

Like I said he doesn't play intensive games and he BARELY plays games at all anymore so it's just there to be there.

I could barely play LoL on medium with my HD4600 but the 9800GT ran Metro and Crysis pretty ok

I'd try to get a used 7770 on ebay, it's better than what is in there and would do him great while not being that expensive

Something like this would do him wonders:

Odd, I experimented with the igpu on my I7 4770k a while back. Got 32 fps on Total War Shogun 2 at 720p medium. And 40 ish on Grid 2 1080p low. Nothing impressive but if my gpu died, I could get by. Might be how much ram gets allocated to the igpu. Though looks good, hopefully he likes it.

I haven't seen him play a game in like a year

I hope so. That 9800GT was secretly a beast. Thing ran Crysis 2

It's still worth it IMO, when he decides to play he'll be able to crank those sliders a bit further, then he may game more :D

Build is finished and I don't know if you guys cared to see it but I tagged you anyways :c

The case is god awful. It seriously is a piece of junk. I couldn't get the PSU to fit properly and I only have 2 screws on the bottom since the top ones wouldn't the top screw holes. The is barely any room in the back for cable management. Otherwise it was no issues and I still haven't cut myself on IO :3

He didn't want one. I tried to persuade him :\

You shouldn't have given him the option.
