Hey guys, this is kind of a question/discussion topic. Ok, so the last few days have been pesky for me. I got a pop-up on YouTube about last week, and got really scared so I reformatted all of my drives - I know, completely unnecessary.

However, even after doing extensive cleaning and checking of my computer's registry files, even having someone from MS check it, we found that my computer is perfectly clean! I don't download anything, unless from steam, and I don't go on dirty sites, either.
But, today I got another random pop-up, but from a differnent source - also on YouTube, however, and this pop-up doesn't not occur on any other sites, Ive tried.

Has anyone else seen any random pop-ups occurring on YouTube?

Theyre the pop-ups on IE 11 that say at the bottom "Would you like to save [insert edgy name here] from [insertdodgynamesitehere].com?"

And I just avoid them, so I don't really know, haha

Wait what do you mean reformatted your drives? Like did you do a clean install of windows? Because if you didn't there might of been adware bundled in with a program you tried to download. Does your computer have any anti virus? If not try Malwarebytes or AVG.Some pictures of the problem would be nice.

If you're using chrome, just install addblocker and it mite just be some internet settings, hence why it doesn't come up on your drives.

xvantok is right you should download ad blocker on a different browser and use that if you are scared of clicking on the wrong ads and downloading things, Overall Chrome/firefox is better then Internet explorer 11.

Yesterday I started getting popup ads on every site I visited (including this one) which seemed random, especially since I hadn't had them for years. My solution was to uninstall Chrome & re-install, no more pop ups :)  Thankfully whatever was causing the popups wasn't synced with Chrome.

Also ran Malwarebytes & a virus scan, just to be sure.
