I followed this guide: http://www.wincom7.com/2012/09/update-moving-chromes-default-cache-directory/

and successfully changed the cache from my ssd to my hard drive. The problem is, when I check up on it a few days later, the process seems to have reset itself and the cache location is back on the ssd.

I suspected this may be due to something I did with CCleaner (I checked the cache after running CCleaner), but I can't identify the setting that is responsible.

I don't know how to change it but i noticed my cache was almost 2GB on my SSD... thats kind of ridiculous.

My guess is that ccleaner is actually removing the cache folder which means it's removing the link, then chrome is recreating the folder as a standard folder and not a link. What you can do is make a batch file to run after you run ccleaner to recreate it.

If you don't know how to do that, just take whatever you had to type in the command window from those instructions, type it in notepad and save it as a file with .bat as the file extension instead of .txt (change the file type from text document to all files, then type the name with .bat). Then run that batch file after you use ccleaner, but before you use chrome. You may need to right click it and say run as administrator if UAC is turned on.
