I'm finally ready to jump into my first build and I want to make sure that I don't have any compatibility issues. I'm a little bit confused with the power supply being intel cpu ready, are PSUs brand specific or can I use it with my AMD system anyways?

This system will see some very light gaming (LOL from time to time) and my current system actually handles that acceptably for me. Mostly this is used for heavy homework loads and some mid range amateur video editing. It doesn't have to be crazy fast but it needs to get the job done and have expandability for storage in the future. The whole point of this build is to give me storage and future upgrading options at reasonable modern day performance for the above uses. Mostly I would like to know that these parts will actually work. Thanks in advance for all your help.

I will be pulling the DVD Drive/Burner out of my low end HP Machine for this build.

What's your budget and what's your location/what currency are you using? Let me see if I can put together a build for you that falls within your budget.

Oh, and no, psu's are not cpu specific.

That's good to know thank you. I would just like to know if the components I have listed in my original post are compatible.

Builds created using pcpartpicker.com are generally compatibile. The tool will also provide a max power estimate.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
