So I've been planning on beginning building a pc for gaming, and I'm almost ready to purchase the components, but I'm still unsure on what processor I should get. Basically my question is, what would be my best option when it comes to my bang for my buck with a budget of $100-$200? I'm still new to this site, sooo any response is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Well, what do you want to do with it besides gaming?
What motherboard do you have?
What kind of games are you playing?
What GPU do you have?

I wont't be streaming or anything if that's what you're wondering, obviously I'll be doing basic stuff, Facebook, YouTube, and I'll probably watch movies on it as well.

My motherboard? Well I haven't bought one yet because the CPU I planned on getting was LGA1150, but then I reconsidered, I just wanted to get the most proper CPU for what I'll be doing. Sooo that's going to be determined by the CPU I suppose.

I don't think that there will be a specific genre of game I'll play, but a few would be Guild Wars two, Skyrim, Gmod, and Elder Scrolls Online.

I was gifted a GeForce GTX 650 , so that's currently the only component that I currently physically have, and that's the GPU I will use.

The i5 4690 is a popular choice for the stuff you mentioned. It is a little over budget, but it's a great CPU.

The i5 4440 is also a good CPU (I have had hands on with this one) and it's still within budget.

Another quick question that I've been curious about, what exactly does a 4690k offer that a 4690 doesn't? Because I've always been kinda confused about what the whole "K" at the end of the processor's name meant.

The "K" at the end of the Processor SKU just means that it is unlocked and overclockable.

It won't matter at all if you don't plan on overclocking, and it will perform exactly like the K version
