I have an Antec One Illusion entry-level gaming case.

I have a lot of high-heat components loaded in this thing and i'd like to push it to the limit as far as overclocking.

Here's my components list:

Case: Antec One Illusion

CPU: Intel i7-3770k currently at 4500 mHz

RAM: 16 GB GSkill 1600 mHz Dual Channel RAM

HDD: 1.5 TB Western Digital Green

SSD: 180 GB Intel Cherryvile 520 Series

VGA: ASUS Radeon 7850 featuring Cuda II

CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo

PSU: Antec VP450

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M

Right now, I have every fan running that can possibly be mounted in this case.

One intake in front and bottom, one output on side top and back.

Plus the Hyper 212 evo pushes a lot of air as well.

I have read a lot about how different fan configurations would work and I'd like to cool it better without getting a better case for overclocking.

At load, the CPU peaks around 70C. I know with the 3770k, the TDP is 105C, but I'd like it to idle at lower than 45C, which is what mine is sitting at.

Anybody else have experience or tips?

Thanks, Claudio

Bonus Info!

CPU Vcore - 1.230

Idle Temps - 45C

Load (CPU Only) Temps - 67C

Load (CPU + VGA) Temps - 70C

Load (VGA only) Temps - 51C

I have all cables routed through rear panel for max airflow in front

The Hyper 212 has only 1 fan on it blowing to the rear of the case set up in pull config

First off, what fans are you using? Replacing with better fans, like Noctua? Also, change your side fan from exhaust to intake and test that.

The front, top, side and rear are all antec standard fans that came with the case. They max out at around 800 RPM and are 120mm. They cant push more than 40 CFM, max.

The front, top, rear and cpu are plugged into the headers on the mobo. The side and bottom fans are plugged via 3pin to molex connectors. I have no idea what they are running at.

I'll try that and see what happens.

welcome to the forums claudio,

what is the room temperature or ambient?

yeah, your fans are too slow, weak in flow and generally a fan..

you are kinda at a cross-road in this decsion. you can buy $80-100 in new

fans, or invest in a better case. as entry-level is just to "hold" the components

from crashing into each other. jacking better fans "may" help, but honestly

tying up that kind of cash in a mediocre benefit is not worth your time.

what you should really be looking into is a better flowing case, posibly a

higher quaility cooler, and then re-evaluate your temperatures.

I'm at about 82 F or 28 C ambient room temp.

My room is pretty hot. I run a server and my personal pc in it along with a stereo receiver and dual 23" led monitors

airdeano, I"m lookin to avoid any costs atm. Upgrading fans is in my future.

Boosted_i6 I'm going to try that
