Having RAM issues

Go to solution Solved by llAlexanderll,

Thanks for the advice, however I used windows memory diagnostics tool and it cleared up the issue, weird. thanks anyway :)

Hi, i just built my first PC, has an i7 4790K, GTX 970, MSI H97 Gaming 3 motherboard, 80plus gold 550W Power supply and 8GB DDR3 RAM with windows 8.1 and for some reason my ram is always running at 80-90% load on desktop with only steam, Skype and some background processes running. Please help. I am also having some general slowness and chrome crashing and stuff, I assume that is because of the ram issue

Go to Task Manager and see what is hogging all the RAM. If the ram usage appears to be high, close some programs. If the ram usage is low, then test the memory with MEMTEST86 as listed above.

If your ram usage is unreasonable high, aka some random program using 5gb+, then you have a virus.
