Hi Guys,

I'm in the planning stages at the moment to build myself a home server that can be a low power consumption in comparison to a desktop PC. I will be using this server to run my Plex Server, host other services like a Minecraft server etc and possibly store files if I need to.

I'll just note some of the main things I need to cover in this build:

   1. Low power consumption

   2. Micro ATX or Mini ITX?

   3. Cooling solutions

   4. Dedicated or On-board GPU?

   5. WD Red's or Alternative for storage?

Now I would just like to get everyone input in what you think the best routes to go down for this type of build as I have not done a server build before. I'm not going to be needing a Monitor, keyboard or mouse once it's up and running as it's going to be tucked away once complete and I'll just remote into the server if I need to do maintenance etc.

The networking for the server will be Wireless AC based because I have a Asus RT-AC68U Router and so I'll use the Asus PCE-68U just like my desktop so I think that should be ok.

But please I'm open to any ideas for this and all your input is much appreciated.

If I've missed anything out then please let me know :)
