Drivers Not Installing

I recently got a XFX r7 260x and when trying to install the latest AMD catalyst drivers, it will get to the step where it checks my system for capability and it just stops. It does not crash, and i have tried to rebooting it several times, and also trying to use the disk it came with even, and it still did not work. (also i am running windows 8.1 64)

Did you remove the old drivers?
