hey guys its my first post, i got a big problem i have a i5-3470 and an ASUS b75m-a, i bought a crucial ballistix tracer 8gb 1866mhz but my problem is it doesnt seem to work in my board even i enable the XMP profile.. when i boot up my pc no display. and when i go back to 4gb 1333mhz it boot up. what seems to be the problem?? is crucial not compatible with my rig?

unit

CPU: intel i5-3470

Mobo: Asus b75m-a

memory: wont display (Crucial ballistix tracer 4gbx2 1866mhz) (currently using generic 8gb 1333mhz)

i understand that the motherboard has a memory compatibility from 1333mhz to 2133mhz but starting from 1866 it says OC. then how can i OC it? so it can read my 1866mhz?

thanks guys

Yes, the website does say memory 1600 and up are "(O.C.). I'm guessing it won't support it, but check your motherboard's manual. Also it says 3rd generation Intel processors support speeds at 1600mhz or higher, and I can't tell if your CPU is 2nd generation or 3rd. You might want to look into that.

Computer ----- CPU: FX-6300 | Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P | RAM: 2x4GB 1600MHz/CL9 | GPU: MSI R9 270X OC | Case: Corsair 760T Black | Storage: 2TB WD RE4 | PSU: EVGA 750W Bronze | Display: Acer 21.5" 1080P | CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo | OS: Triple boot - Arch Linux, Windows 7 Ultimate, OS X Mavericks

Other Possesions:

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S4 Verizon on FamilyMobile, root/flash KitPop ---- Other phone: HTC One M7 Sprint Bad ESN, forgot the rom but root/flash 5.0.0 ---- Tablet: Hisense Sero 7 Pro, forgot the rom but root/flash 4.4.4

Is it crucial ram 1 stick or 2 sticks?
If 2, try booting with only 1 stick and see if that works.
I've got the same memory, and it is working flawless in my rig.
