hi all i need some help i own a dell xps 8700 with a 650tiboost 2gb everything has been good until today where i tried to upgrade my cpu, PC came with an I5-4460 and then my friend gave me an i7- 4770 that came from same exact desktop. I took no precautions and just swapped the cpu's. When windows loads screen flickers black for few seconds then i get notification saying display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. I removed car and went onboard with no problems at all, i updated bios to newer version and then completely wiped my nvidia drivers i then put card back in and everything seemed okay until i  restarted after reinstalling drivers. same problem keeps happening where my video drivers crap on me wut do?

Try again, but make sure you are using the right drivers, and possibly use the motherboard video output when updating.

i am using correct latest drivers and don't think it matters installing from onboard, i have gotten the drivers fully installed but gpu just crashes

Your existing hard drive won't be effected.  Just plug it in once the ssd with the os in is back in the system.
