Hi guys, I am literally in the process of putting together my first watercooling system, when all of the sudden a doubt came to my mind about fans positioning

attached a pictures of the case and fans.

It looks like I have way more exhaust than intake, aka negative pressure, is this ok? How would you set up those fans?

Thanks a lot guys!

Wouldn't put any intake fans on the top as the heat rises so it should be ok. It will have a negative air pressure.

Desktop: 16gb Ram, i7-2600k, GTX 560 OC.    Laptop: i7, 8gb DDR3, 840m GPU

Server 1 (Files and AD): i3 3220, 4gb DDR3, 1TB Western Digital Blue, Overkill motherboard I got for free (better than main computer) changed to xeon, don't remember exactly what but xeon version of the processor  and 8gb ECC Ram   Server 2 (games): 8gb Ram, i5, Geforce 710m

turn your roof fans to intake (filter exists) as that 200mm doesn't move a whole

lot of air. so that config you have listed is severely in a negative pressure scenario.

case is large enough for more intake.

convection only occurs when you have no airflow within the case. as the air in

the case is constantly moving, thusa no convection.

Thanks a lot guys for the answer, dust wise I tihink it will be a problem but not as bad, both the lower intake and front intake are filtered, should help a little with the the dust.

I am not sure if I will be able to keep the case on my desk or on the floor. On the desk dust will be less problematic I guess.

Since I replaced the radiators fans with corsair SP 120, I have spare fans from the alphacool set. what do you guys think maybe in trying to put two of them on the bottom for intake?

Plus switching the rear fan to intake that should switch me to slight positive pressure?

The problem with negative pressure is not the dust that is collecting at your fans that will happen anyway. The problem is that there will be less air pumped out than in but since there can't be a vaccum the air with the dust will get sucked in through every nook and cranny or opening into your computer. i had the same problem but as airdeano said convection is only a problem in non moving air which is not the case in your comp. Theres nothing wrong with using the top as intake.

mmmm then I start to get confused and I don't want to go down the road to discuss neutral vs positive and negative. It might end up with a endless length forum post.

So let s try to put the question in this way, if I get a moderate negative pressure can I get a decent cooling and an acceptable level of dust?

Thanks a lot guys

PS: the reason why I wish to try to stick with negative pressure is because If I swap the direction of the radiators fans I will go from push to pull configuration, which might not much difference but I see usually linus goes with a push and I would like to stick with it. I could swap the position of the fans on the top of the radiators rather then on the bottom but I bought leds fans so I wish them to cast light and not cast light trough the radiator.
