I am getting random lag spikes/stuttering every 30 minutes that lasts for 10 seconds. No idea what is cousing this And i want to get rid of it.

I monitored my gpu with msi afterburner and i could see the core clock dropping down 200mhz and back when it happens.

In league of legends i saw the core clock dropping down from 850mhz to about 600mhz.

In battlefield 4 it drops down from 1040mhz to about 800mhz.

Msi twin frozr r9 290x

It would be nice if someone could help me.

Lag spike is network related. I assume you mean framedrops, that could be due to a lot of reasons. The foremost being thermal throttling, HDD causing slowdowns, background processes and/or adware/virusses.

I can see a bit of dust by the case fans but it is very little, should not be a problem and yes i am using the stock cooler and when the framedrops happen my cpu temperature is always between 50 and 60C.

My gpu has never gone past 89C.

I have league of legends installed on my ssd and battlefield 4 on my hdd, it happens in both games (and more) so it is not hard drive related?

I never have too many background processes And a recent virusscan showed no threads.
