Java download fail

Go to solution Solved by Master Disaster,

Rename the file to setup.exe then run it.

Its likely your browsers DL manager renamed it during the download.

When I click the big red download button for the online version with installer, there is no run option. Only open or save. In addition, the file that it downloads has a file extension over 20 digits that my computer can't recognize. I know the site is legitimate, it's Java.com. No weird names. Help!

EDIT: Just tried the offline installer, couldn't even download it.

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

Are you using internet explorer(just curious)? But click save and it should save as an exe(because you are on Windows right?).

Yeah, I'm on IE. But it saves as

.com&AuthParam=1424208038_552cd191adedbfa97dfdebd7aba8d361

One hell of a file extension.
