Recently I built a system whose specs are the following :
Processor: Intel i5 4670k
Motherboard: MSI Z87-GD65
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 1x8GB DDR3 1600MHZ
HDD: Western Digitial Caviar Green 1TB
PSU: Seasonic S12II 620 bronze 620w
Chassis: NZXT Guardian 921RB

My future planned upgrades are ( Due to budget constraints I didn't buy them at the first place) :
Buy another Corsair Vengeance 1x8GB DDR3 1600MHZ ram so that I can have a dual channel setup.
Buy a graphic card. Most probably Nvidia Geforce GTX 660/760.

So what I wanted to ask now is that till I don't buy a gpu, is my IGP (Intel HD 4600) sufficient enough to enjoy games like Mafia 2,Assassin's Creed 3,etc ? Do I have to play these games in the lowest settings or I can play them on decent settings ?
And do tell what you think of my specs and my future upgrade plans.

Get that ^. It will match your color scheme and will perform well at a nice price.

I did pretty much the exact thing as you exept I purchased a 3570k and a G45-Gaming mobo. I think you will have to play on low.

first off 660 and 760 are completelly different. while 660 is great for its price, 760 definitly isnt

760 is the "new" 660 ti with faster clock and LESS cuda. 660ti is horrible for its price

if you need cuda, go for 770 that is the new 680

for 50 more dollars you can get 7970 AND 4 free games, that you can sell and you have card for price of 760

you can definitly sell those 4 games for 50 bucks, not to mention you get much more powerful card, that can overclock quite a bit. you dont get CUDA obviously, fan control and other nvidia features.

Thank you for your suggestions..But being short in budget I might have to compromise gtx 760 with gtx 660.Now I have an additional doubt -If I buy a gtx 660 now and later buy another 660 and use them in sli..Will my 620watt PSU be able to handle it ?

Yes.  Just make sure you have enough power connectors.

AMD - you dont get CUDA obviously, fan control and other nvidia features.

What he didnt state is that with an AMD card you get a cuda alternative with better opencl performance, fan control and AMD features.

Nvidia and AMD both have strengths, IGPU performance varies with game engines and optimizations..

Google "Assassins Creed 3 on HD4000" to get an idea of performance....

Google "Whatever game" on "Whatever hardware" and No Doubt.. People have info on it.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
