Hello guys, i have a short question. In order to prevent hardware damage (because of power outages) i usually unplug the power outlet of my PC at night.

Now in the morning when i press the power on button, all the fans and led's light up for a second or two and then the PC shuts down,

after which also a second it dose the same a boots right up. If i leave the power outlet in during the night and try the same in the morning,

this does not happen. The only thing i can suspect is that the capacitors get drained this way, and that this is just a priming method for the PC?

Thank you for your help!

Probably your power supply may have been damaged.

Depend on the power outages if its a short quick zap, a Battery Surge Protector is the way to go, over long periods, just flip off the back of the power supply switch.

I do not believe this is a priming method(I don't think it exists either). When I built my server, I used a power supply that was sitting for weeks. Server powered right up. Does this happen on another breaker?

Not really familiar what is a breaker? An extension cord, or a wall outlet? As for the priming it was just a wild guess. But like i said if i leave it plugged this does not happen.

A breaker is what keeps you from going over your amperage limit on that circuit. Say for example one of your circuits can handle 15, but you're trying to pull 16A. The breaker connected to that circuit will kick the circuit.

Oh yea now i understand, i am not sure i would be kinda hard to try it on another breaker, but as i said. If i do not unplug it overnight it will but right up.

And if i turn it off now and power it back on it will also boot right up. So i don't think the breaker is the problem.

I would still advise trying it. It's just one more variable to remove from the equation.

I tried one more time just plugging out the power outlet, as well as only turning my PSU off for the night (with the back flip switch), and the same thing occures,

on the other hand if i do neither of these thing it boots right up, i will try another breaker soon enough.
