Perhaps try disabling some startup programs in msconfig.exe

it might be a sign the HDD is going to the heavens

 

time to do a backup and verify with Crystal Disk Info

well you need to do disk cleanup and disk defrag

 

if the HDD light is solid, it mean it trying to access some bad sectors
