Help on new PC

So I'm building my new PC and I bought the best parts I could for my tight budget. I was planning to buy a case which was an awesome deal for a very low price; awesome for my budget, but today when I was about to buy it through internet, the store ran out of it and I lost the opportunity. I've already bought everything I need but the case, which I will be able to afford the more expensive ones in a few weeks when I get enough cash.
Is it safe to assemble everything up for these weeks without risking any component?
What should I use as a "ghetto" platform for my system?

What size mobo do you have?

You can use the mobo box as a temp bench type thing until you get your case. You can literally assemble all the parts in a cardboard box if you want to. However in order to help you pick a case we'd need to know what mobo and other components you have.
