Hey all,

So I'm finishing up with my preparations for water cooling and I have begun the process of figuring out what my possible loops are going to be.  I have purchased an Enthoo Primo SE Red/Black case and have an Asus z97 Formula VI motherboard.  I really want a cylinder reservoir.  There are several combos out there but most do not have a place at the top to attach a tube to (See figure 1).  This is why I came up with the alternative version of (see figure 2).  Please forget the rudementary photoshopping ;)

Ideally I want my runs as straight as possible and plan to use acrylic tubing 1/2 - 5/8(16mm).  I'm trying to figure out the number of fittings I will need.  I also want to ensure I can fill and drain it fairly easily and am okay with installing a drain port.

There are other options if I can't find a decent reservoir/pump combo ( I do want a D5 pump).  I could have the pump behind the motherboard tray either behind the Phanteks logo or about 1/2 along the case, behind the MB tray. So if any of you have suggestions on this, I'm open to it as well.

The one thing I'm trying to avoid is something I have seen many people do, which is to stretch a tube from the lower radiator, behind the MB tray and all the way up to the upper left corner and attach it to the radiator up there.  This is not really what I'm looking for.

Ideally I would love something like this:

The problem is it uses the Corsair 900D and it has two radiators in the bottom, but I think with my first image, I can get close.  I love how every tube is straight with no bending in the top/viewable portion.  He used a combinations of fittings to ensure the straight lines. It is more expensive, but damn it looks good.

So here are my questions:

1. Do you prefer loop run 1, 2 or have a suggestion of your own?

2. Do you know of any reservoir/D5 pump combos that allow connecting a tube to the top of the reservoir?

3. What colour tubing/liquid would you suggest using? I was going to use clear with red liquid, but I'm thinking that it might be TOO much red.  Alternatively i was thinking of going darker blue tubing with clear liquid for a Red/Blue theme. I am a grad from Arizona.

Any other suggestions or comments would be appreciated.  Thanks.

The bitspower z multi reservoir has a top port on it and you could flip the res to easily fill it.

The bottom cap has 3 ports, 1 of which can be your inlet from top rad and you can use 1 of the other 2 to directly fill it

And I also prefer fig 1 since everything is evenly spaced out and fig 2 seems like you just squished everything into 1 corner

I'm not sure what  you mean by flipping the reservoir.  I like the three ports at the bottom tho.  Where would you put the line to empty it all?  I'm assuming near the bottom rad as you really want the lowest point of the computer.  I was thinking tho if the top radiator had a plug on top.. I could open that up and tilt the computer backwards on its back to make that the lowest point.

I mean literally flipping the res so that the 3 port end is on top so that you don't have to fill from your top res. As for draining, you can add a qdc in between your pump and bottom rad. Although ur way works too but just requires more effort to detach everything and make room to tilt it backwards.

Ah that makes sense. I flip it and the one top port, I could then use as the bottom port and use the tree bottom (now top ports) as one connected, one fill.  Good idea.

Loop 1 for sure and there are many cylinder reservoirs that should work for you just check out frozencpu.com or performance-pcs.com and look at their reservoirs.

I am addicted to building gaming PCs but I don't have a great reason to stop...yet...

I'm finding that out, someone even said i could reverse the reservoirs that have multiple ports on bottom so I can fill it. This is a good idea.

Going to wait a few days to see what happens with FrozenCPU, not hearing good things.

I'm getting the case on Tuesday and will post pix to try and figure out what i'm going to do.
