Pentium G3258 help

Hi, i would need some help with my new Pentium G3258. It wont boot on my Asus B85m-E i have updated the newest BIOS to it (version 2201) and the mobo was on the supported list. So it doesnt boot it doesnt post anything fans does spin. So what should i do?

How does the fans spin up if the psu is off?

Oh sorry i somehow read they didnt spin... Does it show any postcode (if it has a postcode display), how is the drive activity led and are all the displays plugged properly?

it does boot up with my other pentium g3430 and there is no post display but i have a post speaker that beeps at the boot with 3430 but it doesnt beep with the 3258

Try reseating the cpu... Helped me a lot

i have changed between the g3430 and g3258 so its reseated many times but still doesnt work?

Could be a dud CPU then. Might want to take it back and exchange it.

Thank you to all of you who responded but i fixed it myself. The solution was that i needed to update my bios with asus bios update software on windows and then it started to working and it overclocked even to 4.4GHz
