I can boot my PC fine (whenever I do its q code is A0 which mean the ide is starting), it will output to my monitor and I can do anything I want on it until it restarts. When it restarts the q code outputs rapidly changing number then stays at A0. It also doesnt output anything to my monitor. My build is running windows 8.1 at 64bit. I would also prefer any way to fix this without wiping my hard drive.

Check your RAM. Run memtest for like 2 passes or 3. Ram can cause problems like this. Q code error is weird, maybe MOBO is problem? I would still check RAM and see if it's RAM or not.

Have you tried re-seating the RAM and Video card. This can help a lot of times if they are lose or being temperamental. Also try running SFC in safe mode through CMD. If you are on Windows 8 you can do a refresh with out losing your data.

I have reseated the gpu and the ram and when i resarted my pc it gave me the error "A2" which is ide detect and it says my overclicking has failed(which i never did unless my pc decided to)

have you tried going in to the BIOS and setting back to defaults?

I reset the BIOS the the defaults and it still restarted but this time instead of just turning my pc off i connected my hdmi cable to my motherboard output and it works fine. My pc doesnt seem to detect my gpu now. Could it be the gpu or is it just screwing up the gpu. Woulld i need asus' video card drivers

Some Where is the BIOS usually under integrated peripherals you can find the option to make your motherboard use either Integrated GPU or dedicated GPU. also if you can maybe test you card in a different system or a different card in your system?

My system finds the card on boot but when it restarts it cant find it after that. I have no other way to test it other than having geforce experience verifying that there is a card on boot but there isnt a card after the restart since it is not outputing from the gpu anymore

I guess my problem is that my pc will restart by itself and stop outputing from the gpu

Edit: I made the pcie slot the only thing for the gpu so that my pc didnt use integrated graphics at all and it still does the restarting. It also still stops outputting. Whenever it restarts a whole bunch of numbers flicker on the q code should i figure out what those numbers are?

How do I figure out what is causing the problem

I would suggest going through the 'unplug everything not essential to the boot up' and then plug in one by one until the issue returns. This goes for the GPU, memory (try it one stick at a time), extra HDDs etc.

i5 4670k @4.2ghz / MSI Z87 G45 / EVGA GTX 960 SSC / Samsung  840 EVo SSD / WD Green 1tb HDD / Corsair H75 / Corsair Obsidian 750D / Corsair CS750M

When it reboots, is there a flash of blue? some BSOD's will instantly reboot, you can stop this by going to advanced system setting > Start-up and Recovery Settings and un-tick auto-restart. at the very least this should allow you to see some form of error message.

If this doesn't stop a reboot then it points very strongly to mobo or PSU issues.

Hi bro..

This is very common issue with a bugged bios..

???

1: did you flash/update recently? What way did you do it?

2: please list full specs of the system..

3: have you tried the good old fashioned Hard reset?

-- a) shutdown the system

-- B) unplug all power sources going + coming from the pc

-- c) open the pc case by removal of sidepanel to gain access & unplug all connected parts

- sata/remove gpu and power connections/8 & 24 pin mobo connections

- remove all ram stickcs (not needed but do it to be thorough)

- remove cpu itself even for added benefit of knowing its not that..

d ) locate and remove the little silver battery carefully (cmos bat)

and leave it removed for atleast 10-30min..do not exceed 30min..any longer and you might do more

harm than good..youre doing this so the board does a complete hard/factory reset for all bioses to the way it was

when it was started the first time after purchase..

E) after this time period..start to re-assemble the pc..and reinsert cmos bat before all else

Cpu first..then the ram -all the sticks but make sure to use correct corresponding slots

reconnect all power -8/24/6 or 8 pin gpu pcie after reinstalling gpu into the 1st slot

Do not hook up your ssd(os) or any hds yet..

F) once all is reinstalled..all power and display reconnected to gpu only..not mob

you can hook up power to the psu..and boot up..

It should say what you said earlier..but not oc..itll ask to lod defaults or enter bios

either F2 or f1..

Hit correct one and load defaults and enter the bios..

Locate the part were you load defaults..then save them..then save & reboot..

After this let it load all the way till it says no hd or os found error..now here you can shutdown pc totaly

& reconnect your os drive/s etc..

Power her up..go to bios..and ensure your os hd is detected and set as 1st drive in hd priority list..and 1st for boot device..

Do not apply any oc or personal settings yet..youll get there.

Now save and reboot..your os should load normaly or ask for select load normaly etc..just let it load fully normaly..

If youve hit success now to load os without any hiccups.let the system stand idle..for 10-30min..do not touch it..let it sit at desktop for now.

If you get none bsod..reboots or any errors..youve successfully fixed the problem.

Now from here reboot..goto bios..locate display options

set onboard igpu disabled

set initiate primary display to peg (pcie) mode ..note* if gpu is pciegen3 enable this now also

do not enable vitru mode or any dual display functions..this will muckup and confuse the board again..

Hit save..then save & reboot.let it do its thing all the way to the desktop..

Again if succesfully loaded without hiccups..let it sit idle fir a bit..

If no errors..you can now run gpu z to confirm the gpus is detected and running properly..

*also..use something like heavan unigine or valley..but at lowest settings possible..yo just want to stress the system a bit..not murder it or reach for the stars..let the test run for atleast 1hour..without any interferance from you..just keep an eye out on gpuZ and for any signs of foulplay.like artifacts..

If test runs successfully..without a glitch...*note be sure to have installed most upto date drivers for both gpu and whole system with only

whql drivers from manufacturers sites for your stuff..

After testing..run any game for a while say an hour..to ensure its game stable..after this

and no hiccups..you can start setting up the bios settings properly to desired settings..for safetys sake..leave as much as you can of the vokts and powersavings to auto/enabled..

If ocing..use the turbo boost per core method..

Hope this extensive post helps you..

I really appreciate you taking the time to write this to hlep me out, but instead of taking everything out what would happen if i just reset the bios completely not just  set it to defaults. The specs of my computer are in the link.

I tried this and when I did i restarted it and now it just goes to the loading windows screen on boot and crashes
