Not necessary under normal circumstances.....I have two Triggers and I haven't felt the need to get the power adapter. It is needed if, you want two even brighter mode for the KB, and, if you wish to plug in power hungry devices like an external HDD to the KB (at least, that's what I've been told). The KB, w/o the power adapter, is bright enough for me, I don't see a need for even brighter setting.

thanks do you know where i can get a power adapter and is the usb port durable

I have a Storm Trigger Green and a Lexmark Model M, and honestly, typing on the Model M is a pleasure....though a tad noisy. Green isn't bad actually, I'm using it on my main rig right now. a little more force is needed to actuate the switch (compared to Blues), and it does feel good typing on it. The Model M, to me anyway, provides for a better typing experience, though you may have to give up certain keys like 'Fn' key, hence no multi-media keys. A Trigger Green is more practical actually, so the choice is yours.

I would totally get the Model M, but it's your choice. They're both good keyboards :D
