So in order for my PC to boot I have to press the power button, it stays at a black screen, then I press the reset switch and startup begins.
Also I never get any boot beeps or anything, anyone got any idea why this is happening??

Rig:

AMD FX 8320, stock speed, stock cooler

MSI 970 Gaming Mobo

MSI Radeon HD 7870's in crossfire, stock speeds.

6GB Kingston ram

ADATA XPG SX900 128GB SSD

Corsair RM750 PSU

NZXT H440 BLK/RED

Did you put the reset and power buttons in the wrong spots? :P

Reading can be so difficult, right? :P

 

Anyway: Do you have any overclocks running on your motherboard/cpu/ram? If so, remove those.

It could also be a faulty PSU, not giving enough peak power when it's needed (when you turn it on the first time). By the time you hit the reset button the PSU probably managed to get its shit together...

Since he says it stays at a black screen, you can presume the system is off. If he hits the reset button and startup begins, then I would say the buttons are in the wrong spot.

Considering the old hardware I think it's safe to assume that it has been working for a while, but you're right it could be.
