PC Power switches

Okay, so I'm currently working my own PC case. I've done pretty much everything but the front I/O isn't ready yet (or the painting). 

 

So here's my question: 

Can I use any switch as an on/off button that I can buy from any electric component retailer or do I have to use some kin of proprietary on/off button.

 

Sorry for my poor english :D.

Any push button switch would do, in fact virtually any single pole switch at all if used right (eg a toggle switch would need flicked on then off again to start).

 

All you are doing is completing a circuit when you press the button then releasing it right after.
