Hello everyone! I am new to the world of pc gaming and i want to build a nice desktop for about $1000 USD. As i have never attempted to do this and all i have is a old HP Pavilion dv4 i dont know what to buy or use. I really want to play Battlefield 4 on it in ultra settings. Is this possible for a $1000 computer? I have no idea what i should use and what i need. Thank you for your assistance.

Where do you live? Does that $1000 include OS/monitor/peripherals?

Also, for future reference, you should post threads in the appropriate sections. This one, for example, belongs here: http://linustechtips.com/main/forum/18-new-builds-and-planning/

/don't remake this thread, just saying for the future. Also remember to quote or @djdwosk97 people when you respond to them.

@djdwosk97 What about the i7? is that any good?

Most games will perform the same on an i7 as they do on an i5. I'd only consider an i7 if it means NOT sacrificing your gpu as an i7 may prove to be helpful as time goes on -- but at 60fps an i5 won't likely cause you any problems.
