Hi there,

I have got a gaming pc  recently, I got really excited because now I can play all the games I want. With that being said I tried to run Bioshock one but could not, every time I would open it to play it; it would give me this message and it would crash. I have no idea what is wrong, I have tried all of the other methods, like changing the launch location, I tried disabling all of my sound except my T.V sound, I even tried running it as admin, but nothing I have tried is working. I just want to play Bioshock one, someone help me....  T^T

I think it may some issue releating to audio. Try downloading (and using) a program called Virtual Audio Cable, screw around with it and see if it can ever boot. I KNOW I've head this issue of it not booting.

Try running it in different compatibility modes. I had an issue where the sound wouldn't work after the intro. You have to go into your audio devices and enable the 'Stereo Mix' in the 'Recording' tab. You may have to right click > Show Disabled/Disconnect Devices to get it to show up. What was the message that popped up when it crashed?

Okay I'll give that a shot. The message is " bioshock.exe has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." then it gives me a close program option.

When I first got my new computer, I downloaded the Bioshock demo. It kept crashing on launch. Then when the holiday Steam sale came around I picked up all three and then Bioshock would launch fine. The issue I'm having now is Bioshock 2 will randomly crash to the desktop. And since the only autosaves are moving from one 'level' to the next, I keep losing a lot of progress... Whatever though, I played all of them when they first came out, I love the series and it doesn't bother me I have to keep replaying levels.
