I recently tried to take my 3570k to 4.0-4.2 GHz and always got an error on OCCT within 40 minutes (usually within 20 minutes). I have been playing around with overclocks and decided to test everything at stock.

All I have configured now is, after resetting to defaults is my CPU vcore voltage is at 1.100v, the loadline callibration at extreme and using the x.m.p. profile with 1.65v dialed in (I know the RAM is rated for 8-8-8-24 at 1.65v). I have 2 sticks of RAM.

I did prime95 for about 14 minutes and got a rounding error (.5, expecting below .4, or something like that) on the second worker.

Is it possible that I have a faulty stick? Currently testing prime95 with just one stick.

I checked the warranty and it says lifetime limited (probably meaning if discontinued, it still has a warranty to be replaced with a similar part, which it is on newegg because of price changes or something). How would I prove that I bought it if I do need to RMA it? Does newegg's order history count?

If you suspect the RAM I'd recommend downloading Memtest86 and running it, that is all I can suggest because I can't think of anything else.
